Frequently asked questions

Barbecue should be simple, but we know you might still have a few questions. Below are the most common questions we get about Lockhart Smokehouse so you can spend less time searching and more time eating.

Do I need a reservation?

We typically operate on a counter service first-come, basis. However, for large groups (10+ people), we recommend calling ahead to ensure we can accommodate you.

What meats do you offer?

We specialize in traditional Texas BBQ, including brisket, pork ribs, sausage, and turkey daily. We also have rotating specials posted on our Facebbok page. All our meats are smoked low and slow over Texas post oak.

Why do you not have plates?

We model ourselves after the best BBQ places in Central Texas! Our heritage comes from Kreuz Market and their origins as a grocery store where the meat was wrapped in paper for you to take with you. It also makes an amazing communal dining experience.

Do you serve alcohol?

Yes, because BBQ is just better with cold beer. We also have a full bar.

Do you sell out of certain items?

Yes, because we smoke everything fresh daily, we sometimes run out of popular items. We recommend arriving earlier in the day for the best selection, especially on weekends.

Do you offer catering?

Absolutely! We cater events of all sizes, from small gatherings to large corporate events. Contact us directly 214-458-3484 to discuss your catering needs and menu options.
